It is holiday (summer in Europe) time, and if you’ve been following the European news lately, you might have noticed a worrying trend: the West Nile Virus is on the rise across Europe – especially the southern regions, namely, Italy, Greece, Romania, North Macedonia, and to a lesser extent, Spain and France.

In my 30 years of practice, I was always fascinated by the conversations with very old and yet healthy patients. I distinctly remember a 91-year-old lady who had walked 3 kilometers to my practice because she had back pain.
